Festival Friends

Our Festival Friends support us in a range of ways and we are very grateful for their involvement in the Festival.

Providing free transport to any cancer sufferer to all major hospitals in our area e.g. Wansbeck, Newcastle, Borders General and Edinburgh for cancer related appointments.

NINE ARCHES PRESS was founded in 2008 and emerged from an awareness of the local literary landscape and a desire to provide a platform for new and emerging poets.

Provides a wide range of educational courses in and around Berwick-upon-Tweed, with subjects ranging from Art to Astronomy and from Sociology to Cinema.

The Berwick-upon-Tweed Civic Society protects the Character and Civic Amenities of our town.

Raising awareness of rights at work and the union role in enforcing those rights. Actively engaged in issues affecting local and wider communities.

Based in Hexham, Bloodaxe Books has revolutionised poetry publishing in Britain over four decades.

The partnership between Newcastle Libraries and the Lit & Phil continues with the ninth year of Books on Tyne: The Newcastle Book Festival. Both venues will stage a remarkably varied programme of events.

The Friends of Castle Parks Berwick raise funds for the maintenance and enhancement of Castle Vale, Coronation and Flagstaff parks.

Hexham Book Festival delivers an annual festival that takes place in and around Hexham in April/May each year.

Aiming to become an eco-hall. Supports local environmental and cultural initiatives.

Learning, information and literature for all ages in Berwick-upon-Tweed at Berwick Library.

The Lit & Phil Library is Newcastle’s exquisite secret library, open to all and free to explore and browse.

We want to stop perfectly edible food from going to landfill. Join us at our café in West Street or our  pop-up shop at the Radio Rooms on a Saturday morning.

Newcastle Centre for the Literary Arts brings world-class literature to the North East.
