The 7th Festival has now ended and we would like to thank all our speakers and interviewers for four days of outstanding talks and performances. It has been a truly memorable event: everyone will have their favourite session, every one of them different, which means that we succeeded in our aim to present words - written, spoken and performed.

Our audiences have come from far and near: far, from Brisbane to the east to Seattle in the west, and many places between, including across the length and breadth of the UK; near, we have had tremendous support from our Patrons and our supporters in Northumberland and the Scottish Borders and from our sponsors. To you all, we have enjoyed welcoming you virtually to Berwick.

To remind yourself of the sessions please read the fascinating blogs on this website. Our donation page will remain open for a while and we are very grateful for the generous giving by so many; to hear more about the Festival please sign up to our mailing list.

Finally, I must mention the volunteers who make up the Steering Group that made this Festival possible and the Trustees who backed our decision to go online. It has been an outstanding result to turn in just six months a festival of talks given in halls in Berwick into an internationally promoted online programme, a result that would not have been possible without their commitment.

Nobody can say yet what form the 8th Festival will take in 2021: but when it comes we really look forward to meeting you.

@AlwynTurner: "We invited British Gas on, but they declined. They sent a statement, which I can't be bothered to read out if they can't be bothered to turn up." Congratulations to @NickFerrariLBC - I don't think I've ever heard a radio presenter say that before.

@LJRossAuthor: Another U.K. #1 bestseller, and I can hardly believe it. Thank you very much to all the kind readers who ‘get’ my stories. I write them to feel uplifted, despite the crime element; I hope they uplift you, too. New one is available to pre-order now: https://t.co/KlhT7nA5su https://t.co/toXy4AnQOa
