We are aware of fraudulent emails being sent to authors by individuals falsely claiming to represent Berwick Literary Festival, including emails impersonating our Festival Manager, Jennifer Heald.

These emails are not from Berwick Literary Festival. We will never ask an author to pay a fee to secure a place in our Festival programme.

Fraudulent approaches have been sent from Gmail and other email addresses designed to appear legitimate. Please check the sender's full email address carefully. Official Festival correspondence will come from an email address ending @berwickliteraryfestival.com.

If you receive an unexpected approach claiming to be from Berwick Literary Festival, do not send money or provide banking or personal information. If you are in any doubt, please contact us directly at [email protected] to verify the communication.

We are aware that similar impersonation scams are currently targeting authors and literary organisations elsewhere. We are very sorry to hear from authors who have been affected.
