Dewa has recently been creating Sri Lankan menus for her sell-out monthly pop-up curry nights at Berwick’s Mule on Rouge. Her friend Jackie is a writer and interviewer, who shares a love of cooking. They’ll chat about sourcing and buying ingredients in Sri Lanka – and preparing and cooking them for meals. There will be tasty treats for the audience to try.
In Sri Lanka, spiced and scented flavour-rich food is part of everyday life and essential to any gathering of family or friends. This is the kind of food I love creating and cooking and I’ve enjoyed bringing a touch of Sri Lanka to Berwick with my curry nights at the Mule on Rouge on Bridge Street. I’ll be chatting about shopping for ingredients in Sri Lanka and how those ingredients will come together to provide a menu for the day. There will be a few tasty treats for the audience to try.
