Barry Morgan ~ R S Thomas’ Religious Poetry: Questions not Answers.

16th October 2021, 10:00 am-11:00 am
Zoom Webinar

Many people seek answers to questions about God’s existence and presence; how and whether he answers prayer, and how he is revealed in the person of Jesus. This poet suggests that there are no simple answers. We may have to live with uncertainty and doubt,  and that is the essence of faith.

Barry, the former Archbishop of Wales, is the author of Strangely Orthodox – R. S. Thomas and the Poetry of Faith

Three collections of poetry by R. S. Thomas are available from Bloodaxe Books. More information is available here

This session is presented in association with the RS Thomas & ME Eldridge Poetry & Arts Festival which honours the convergence of the creative lives of the poet RS Thomas and his wife. More information is available here

This session is also presented in association with the Religious Resource Centre in North Shields which provides extensive academic and practical resources for religious education and theological study, mission and ministry – reflecting its Christian foundation, but also the multi-faith communities found in the North-East of England.
