How can we write poems in which two halves generate a dynamic whole? They may work in partnership and opposition, the space between evoking shifts and silences. Through varied exercises, we’ll explore the looser form of ‘hinge poems’, and the strange but mesmerizing specular poem (invented by Julia Copus) where the lines of the first verse are repeated in reverse order in the second, creating a mirror image.
All writers welcome, including beginners
