In this informal discussion, locally-based writers share thoughts on how they began writing, their creative process and the writing life. Lisa Hobman and Jules Watson are in conversation with Margaret Skea.
Lisa Hobman writes contemporary romance, which are all set in Scotland, simply because she’s quite obsessed with the place. Her most local book is set on Eyemouth. Lisa is one half of the new ownership at Slightly Foxed in Berwick.
Margaret Skea is an award-winning novelist and short story writer of five historical novels. Growing up in Northern Ireland during the Troubles, much of her writing focuses on the pressures that living within conflict places on families, on relationships and on personal integrity.
Jules Watson is the author of the Dalriada trilogy: a Celtic historical fiction/fantasy based on the first century Roman invasions of Scotland. Her subsequent two books, The Swan Maiden, and, The Raven Queen, are fictionalised retellings of famous Irish myths.
