Jane Burn is a poet and illustrator based in the North East of England. She has won many awards, including the Silver Wyvern at the Poetry on the Lake Festival. Poetry is her true love and the only place where she feels confident, fluent and able to express the unique way she sees the world.

Jane Commane is director/editor at Nine Arches Press, co-editor of Under the Radar magazine and co-author (with Jo Bell) of How to Be a Poet. Her debut poetry collection, Assembly Lines (Bloodaxe, 2018) was longlisted for the 2019 Michael Murphy Memorial Prize. 

Roy McFarlane is a Poet and Playwright born in Birmingham of Jamaican parentage. He has shared his passion for social justice, equality, identity, love and the healing power of poetry as a witness to our times. His debut collection, Beginning With Your Last Breath, was followed by The Healing Next Time, (Nine Arches Press 2018).

Degna Stone is a poet and poetry editor based in Gateshead. Since winning a Northern Promise Award in 2010 they’ve been steadily developing their craft.  Proof of Life on Earth (Nine Arches Press) is Degna Stone’s debut poetry collection.

Nine Arches Press was founded in 2008 and emerged from an awareness of the local literary landscape and a desire to provide a platform for new and emerging poets.
